Do you need a simple, easy-to-use video editing software program? One that doesn't require hours and hours of learning to produce quality videos? Well, if so, then the Movavi Video Suite may be right up your alley.

Ok, Movavi does not equal Adobe Premiere in terms of features and video editing capabilities. It can't do very sophisticated or creative video effects.

However, if you have a simple home video of that latest family vacation, or your child wants to produce his or her own DVD for a school project - Movavi is the best software to use.

Let's run through the key features of  Movavi in this article so you have a sense of its capabilities.

Overview

Granted, Movavi is not a well known name in the video editing software market. But I'll be honest - I've secretly adored and used it for many years.

Whenever I need to quickly edit and package a simple video, I turn to Movavi. Ok, you have your selection of commercial editing packages like Corel VideoStudio, Adobe Premiere Elements and Cyberlink PowerDirector. They're all great packages, but they don't compare to Movavi for spectacular ease-of-use and video editing speed.

Let's look at Movavi's salient features below.

1. Capture Video

I always think that video capture is an area which confounds video enthusiasts. How do you get video from your HD digital camcorder or camera into the computer?

Well, a program like Movavi is a godsend in this respect. I checked out the video capture capability in the program and I'm glad to report it captures from DV cameras and TV-tuners. It also lets me capture MPEG2-TS and AVCHD video formats.

One favorite trick of mine is to take an old movie I own on a VHS cassette, then play it back on the computer using my TV tuner. Switch on Movavi to capture the video on-screen, and voila! I've converted my old VHS into a digital video. This video recording works for everything happening on your computer screen - programs, playing back videos, the Internet events and more.

2. Convert Video, DVD and Audio

What's one of the most important features of a video editing program? That's right - it must be able to provide broad support for video and audio formats. A programs that supports a small list of formats will give you a lot of video conversion headaches when you're trying to view your videos across a range of devices.

Movavi supports video transfer between more than 170 media formats, including DVD and HD. There's also support for more than 200 portable devices: Apple iPod®, iPad®, iPhone®, Sony PSP™, BlackBerry™, Nokia™, HTC™ and more. You can also easily upload video to YouTube and Facebook.

3. Edit 2D And 3D Video

As you might know, 3D video is all the rage these days. I think it's definitely a good idea to find a software program that supports both 2D and 3D video editing, so you can make the most of that 3D wide-screen TV you have.

I found Movavi to be very user-friendly when it comes to video editing. Usually, with other programs, I'd take at least an hour or more trying to figure out the video storyboard and timeline.

So here's another thing. Do you want to burn Blu-ray, DVD or CD discs of your movie? Maybe impress Grandma or Grandpa with a Blu-ray Discs of the kids?

I'm blown away by Blu-ray and the video quality it provides. You can store over 9 hours of high-definition video on just one disc.
