The graphics acceleration in your computer's video card is utilized by Wax to create effects which are simply mind-boggling and are either real-time or close to real-time. Wax caters to unlimited video and audio tracks with top-down compositing and many compositing modes.

2D and 3D plugins, as well as transitions are available in Wax. You can also easily complete 3D compositing using shadows, 3D objects, lighting, texture generators and more.

3. Plugins Available

What kind of plugins do you get? Well, the plugins which are available include RotoMate (which allows painting over video using masks and keyframmable shapes), Shatter (for creating explosive effects), ModelLoader (.3DS, .MS3d and .MD2 files can be used to load 3D models), Text 3D and Particle Generator (used for generating particle effects such as rain, smoke, fire etc.).

4. Other Features

Wax also has a Transition and Plugin SDK for developers who require extended functionality. The input video formats supported by Wax are WAV, AVI and all popular image formats. Supported output formats are MPEG, AVI, Flash, WAV and again, all popular image formats.
